Information Collected and What We Do With It
Placing an order with Century UK LTD over the Internet requires you to provide your name, address (as held by the card issuer, including PostCode), telephone numbers, email address, credit/debit card number, card expiry date (and issue number or start date for Switch or Solo Cards). You may also be asked for a small amount of additional security information which you as cardholder will know.
Should you not wish to provide personal information over the Internet you may submit your order by post. In this instance, we will additionally require your signature and the delivery address, and if paying by credit/debit card the name of the recipient if different from that of the cardholder.
In order to process your order it may be necessary to divulge your contact telephone number to our delivery company in case they need to contact you.
Your email address may be used by Century UK to advise you of new products, special offers etc., unless you advise us otherwise either in writing or by email to unsubscribe@centuryuk.com.
Century UK LTD uses secure server software to protect the data you provide each time you place an order. The software converts the computer data and messages to something incomprehensible, before you send it to us, by means of a 'key', so that it can be reconverted only by an authorised recipient holding the matching 'key'. This minimises the risk of the data being intercepted before we receive it.
Credit/debit card information is subject to 128-bit encryption, which is the highest level available.
By using the site www.centuryuk.com you are consenting to the collection, processing, and use of the information you provide for the purpose of administering your order, processing payment, fraud detection, and for our own marketing uses. We will not pass your data to third parties without your prior consent.
Warranty
a. In the case of goods developing faults, the company should first be contacted as in our experience most problems can be rectified without the need for the item to be returned. If on examination of the goods by the company we find that the defect has occurred through defect in workmanship or faulty materials the company will at its option repair or replace the items free of charge.
b. If the items are found not to be faulty or to have been damaged by the customer we reserve the right to charge for the repair and/or the return of the goods to the customer.
c. The company is unable to accept any liability save to the extent and in the circumstances described above, in particular the company cannot be liable for any financial loss, injury or damage caused to the buyer or any other person caused by any defect in the goods except to the extent that its negligence caused or contributed thereto.
d. The company cannot therefore be responsible for the negligence of others.
Returns
In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your order you must notify us within 7 days of delivery, detailing the reason for your dissatisfaction. In the event that an item is to be returned it must be unused and with the original packing and in the condition in which it was delivered to you unless faulty.
Unless there is a manufacturing fault, or the goods were damaged in transit, goods will be returned at your own cost and refunds are made up to the cost of goods excluding Postage and Packing. Century UK LTD strongly recommends the use of Royal Mail Recorded Delivery (signed for) for goods returned, and cannot be held liable for any losses in the postal service.
